Introduction to Tactical Handgun

Course Description: This course designed for the student that has shooting experience and wants to improve their skill set. This class starts where other classes leave off and the focus is to instill sound weapons manipulation, control of weapons malfunctions, marksmanship, and improved shooting skills. The focal point is on tactical shooting and development of gun handling skills for personal protection, home defense, and tactical deployments. This class is taught by former military firearms instructors and NRA Certified Instructors.

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 200-300 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Reloading Devices, Holster.  

Duration and Fees: 3 hours, $75.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Tactical Handgun

Course Description: This course designed for the student that has well rounded shooting experience, however wants the challenge of additional factors and an advanced skill set. This class will cover aspects of shooting that is usually not available on the civilian market and can be used for competitive shooting such as IDPA. Focus is on various position shooting with stress inducted situations to create a shooting environments that forced the student focus on their shooting quality. The class is fast paced and maximizes the students shooting time and  is taught by former military firearms instructors and NRA Certified Instructors.

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 200-300 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Reloading Devices, Holster.  

Duration and Fees: 3 hours, $75.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Intermediate Tactical Handgun 

Course Description: This course designed for the student that has shooting experience and wants to improve their skill set. Lessons include; Weapons Presentation, Weapons malfunction, Combat/Tactical reloads, Target discrimination, Shooting on the move, Multiple shot engagements, Post-Shooting actions, Cover and concealment, Barricades and Obstacles, Contact/Distance shooting, Weak hand shooting/reloads, One Handed shooting/reloads. This class is fast paced and maximizes the students shooting time and is taught by former military/LE firearms instructors and NRA Certified instructors. 

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 200-300 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Magazine, Holster.  

Duration and Fees: 3 hours, $75.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Advanced Tactical Handgun

Course Description: This course designed for the student that is an active or retired operator in Law Enforcement, Military, or Private Security Industry. This class will included high risk shooting situations such as room clearance, search warrant executions, suspect take downs, buy bust / reverse sting operations, convoy escorts, and executive protection details. Stress induced situations will be created for the student forcing the student to adapt to undesirable shooting conditions. This class is taught by former military firearms instructors and NRA Certified Instructors.

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 200-300 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Reloading Devices, Holster.  

Duration and Fees: 4 hours, $85.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Defensive Pistol for Ladies

Course Description: This course is designed specifically for lady shooters who want to develop their skills when carrying a firearm for self-defense. The class covers  situational awareness and the student will practice drills such as drawing, drawing and moving,  escape and avoidance, command and control, shot placement, and how to keep from becoming a victim by using simple precautionary measured. We will also cover firearms safety, weapon manipulation, marksmanship skills. This course is taught by NRA Certified Firearms Instructors.  

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 200-300 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Reloading Devices, Holster.  

Duration and Fees: 3 hours, $75.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Low Light / No Light Tactical Handgun

Course Description: Low Light / No Light Tactical Handgun  course of instruction is designed to expose an already competent Shooter to the usage and manipulation of a handgun in a tactical atmosphere with little to no light to work with. Topics will include Flashlight usage both handheld and mounted,Firearm/Range Safety, Weapon Manipulation Skill Building, Reloading and Malfunction Drills, Shooting Positions, and Firearms Safety. This course is taught by NRA Certified Firearms Instructors.

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 200-300 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Magazine, Holster.

Duration and Fees: 3 hours,  $75.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Shoot / Don't Shoot Course

Course Description: There are two separate "Shoot/Don't Shoot courses, a shooting and a non-shooting scenario based course.  The live fire course will use targets of bad guys and good guys in which the students will have to make a judgment as to who to shoot and not shoot depending on the specific situations they are given.  The scenario based/no real weapon course will involve role player(s) interacting with the students in specially designed scenarios for the students to react to.  These two courses test the students' judgment and preparedness for dealing with potential dangerous real life situations and aids them in developing their mental and emotional preparedness.  

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 300-400 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Magazine, Holster.  

Duration and Fees: 3 hours, $75.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

Shooter Down / Self Rescue Course

Course Description: With the growing numbers of violent crimes and civilians forced to protect themselves, with an inherent risk of increasing traumatic injury, the average civilian needs to learn skills to save their lives as well as others. This 4 hour course is designed for the shooter on how to survive an incident in which you are shot and the student will learn how to develop a medical threat assessment and action plan. It covers the importance of remaining in the gun fight until the threat is over and how to apply basic immediate medical aid to yourself until first responders arrive to help you. This is not a first aid course, but an immediate medical aid course that provides training and skills to deliver lifesaving immediate care in the event of traumatic injury.  The training can also apply if you are alone and seriously injured under other circumstances by applying effective critical medical support and skills needed to preserve lives in hostile environments.

Course Requirements: Eye/Ear Protection, 300-400 Rounds of Ammunition, Handgun, Magazine, Holster. 

Duration and Fees: 6 hours, $125.00, Range Fees and Ammunition additional.

 

NRA Handgun/Shotgun Instructor Course

Course Description: This school compresses the handgun instructor school to 3 days and adds 2 days of shotgun instructor training. Student classroom presentations, concealed-carry training, and unconventional shooting positions are replaced with shotgun marksmanship and handling classroom presentations and range work. Shotgun drills include firing from cover, use of kneeling and prone positions, moving targets, malfunction clearing, firing on the move, and transitioning to the handgun. A backup handgun is NOT required for this school. The shotgun and buckshot must be capable of shooting a group no larger than 18 inches at 15 yards in order to pass the course. Rifled shotgun barrels are inappropriate for this school and are not allowed. The is a qualifying course to apply for the State of Florida Class K Firearms Instructor Certification. 

Course Requirements:  In addition to the above mentioned required equipment, the following are ALSO necessary for this school:

  • Duty-type, law enforcement 12 gauge pump or semi-auto police shotgun equipped with a sling.

  • 900 rounds of duty or training handgun ammunition.

  • 50 rounds of duty or training 12 gauge slugs.

  • 20 rounds of duty or training 12 gauge 00 buckshot.

  • 100 rounds of birdshot (#6, #7½, #8 or #9).

Duration and Fees: 5 Days Total, four days of daylight shooting and one evening of low light shooting, exact times to be announced, $100.00 to Centerfire Tactical that can be paid via the Buy Now button and $645.00 to be paid to the NRA.
